Pewter Pitcher - pastel

This pewter pitcher has been in our family for a couple of centuries. My mom gave it to my oldest son and I borrowed it from him to paint it.

Oregon coast - watercolor

This was from one of our trips to Oregon with my mom and Dave.  I liked the colors. Painting sky is so much fun!

This painting was accepted in Waterworks show in Pacific Art League for September 2012 show.

Pond in Foothill Park - Oil

Plein Air painting is challenging. I find it hard to translate the space to two-dimensional picture. I started three paintings and this one is only one I finished. I painted it in Palo Alto Foothill Park.

Foothills painting form Robin's class - watercolor with pastel

This is a watercolor with pastel. I took the class to see how the two combine, but since I am not still very comfortable in either, it was a little too much. It took me the whole quarter to do just one painting.

Blue bottle with lemons - pastel

I like colors of this painting. Glass is always a fun project. All the reflections and colors are fun. Lemons are my favorite, but one day I would like to paint grapes, onions and mushrooms.

Vase with Pears - pastel

Pears are are great painting subject. I should paint more pears. The orange in the thick glass bowl was fun to work on.

Teal Study - pastel

Most interesting part of this painting was creating of the illusion of the green apple being inside the glass container. Background and the shadows of the fruit were fun too.
