Candle with Lemons - pastel

This is my newest realistic pastel. It is a candle holder we have in our house, I decided, that I want to paint things that are part of my life, or that I experienced or have emotional connection to. I worked on this painting for a long time, improving it and improving it and I think I overworked it. Every picture is a new experience and I always learn something new.

Drawing Class

This one I think came out quite nice.

Gondolas - watercolor

Back to Venice. Italy is my favorite. I was really struggling with the contrast of the boats and the misty background, but I guess that is part of the excitement, challenge and beauty of painting.

Drawing class

I was really happy with this drawing. I have to admit that I find drawing hair difficult, so this one was much easier.

Drawing class - Siri

Some days are better and some are not. I feel that I am getting hang of drawing the face, but sometimes it doesn't end the way I wanted. Siri was much cuter, I think it is easier to draw older people.

Figure drawing class with Jim Smyth

I took this class as a challenge. Human figure and human face are most unforgiving subjects to draw. When drawing a landscape, you can always pretend that it was that way, but everyone know what person looks like, so any deviation from the reality becomes immediately obvious. It is a great practice to see and create your representation of the image.
