Fall leaves - watercolor

I learned that it is very helpful to choose very small image as an example, that you have to fill in the detail from your head, because you can't see it.

This painting has three layers, one done wet on wet, second one is a little dryer and the last is with most detail painted to dry surface. My intention was to show the transparency and translucency of the leaves. Another challenge was the focus and out-of-focus feel of leaves.

I entered this painting to a juried show and it was accepted. The show was in Pacific Art League and the theme was "In the Garden". It was my first official show!
