On the Corner - Oil on canvas - 20x20"

This was a wonderful painting to paint. I guess it wanted to be painted. Sometimes it goes easy and feels good right away. I had fun with the reflections and I decided I liked the salmon colored sky instead of just blue. It is so much fun to create and recreate nature.

Prague, Kampa - oil drip - 24x18"

I love this part of Prague, coming from Old Town you pass on Charles bridge to Little Quarter and before you get there, there is a island Kampa. Very romantic place.

I found the image I wanted to paint and as always started underpaint with a drip. This time the drip came out mysterious and so beautiful, I decided to keep it. It just took on life of its own. I painted another one just to paint the scene I liked.

Prague, Charles Bridge - Oil on canvas - 20x20"

My favorite view of the bridge. There is so many angles and places you can look at river Vltava (Moldau) and the 14. century bridge. But it is never the same, the light changes, sky is different, it is beautiful.

I was trying to capture the light before rain, the reflections in the water and the warmth of the bridge. Preserving the underpaint is always challenging for me and on this painting I succeeded to keep a lot of it. I am very happy about that.

Stormy Afternoon - oil on canvas 24x18"

This painting is a travel memory from Island of Krk in Croatia. We had a wonderful time. The country is beautiful.
Now about the painting. this is a second post with it, I just was not happy with it the first time. It was challenging project, that took a lot of "do it over". I painted the sky twice and the wall on the right side drove me "up the wall" :) I painted that one over about six times, but as stubborn as I am as far as painting goes, I made it work and now I am very happy with the painting. It is a big reward for a little (or more) frustration.

Now when I look at the painting, I can smell the salt of Mediterranean and grilled octopus, which was amazing.
